Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Best Things to Do and Visit in Cayman Islands:

  • Cabana Bay – Cabana Bay is a very popular tourist place where many of the locals also work and hangout at. There’s a viewing area of the that gives you a pretty nice view of the entire Island. Cabana Bay is also where you want to go if you are looking to shop and I’m not talking about budget shopping.

There’s a Pizza Place at Cabana Bay that has daily deals! We ate there twice because the deals were so great. Just make sure if you order calamari ask for it without the artichokes mixed in”

  • Starfish Point – Is one of the Islands most visited tourist attractions in the Cayman Islands. Tour guides will give you the opportunity to hold and take pictures with Starfish in the very shallow waters of Starfish Point. If you are too chicken to hold one – like my mother, you can opt into standing near them because the water is so shallow just being near them makes for a great photo opp.

  • Stingray City – Our tour guide stopped us at Stingray City where the waters are extremely deep, and they will suggest you use a life jacket before hopping into the water. Anyways remember when Beyoncé said, “Who runs the world- Girls”? People may disagree but it’s a fact that women Stingray make up a whopping 80 percent of the Stingray’s there. It’s easy to tell a female Stingray as like Bumblebees as they are extremely larger than their male counterparts. Queen Bee would happy.

  • Cigar Bar – If you enjoy Cigar Bar’s at home, you will love the Cigar Bar in Grand Cayman! They always have someone making handmade Cuban Cigars. Another plus is they have an excellent daily happy hour before 7 pm each day… BOTTOMS UP!

  • Cayman Cookout – If you are a foodie or drinker you may want to strategically plan your trip to the Cayman Islands around the second week of January when they host the Cayman Cookout. They invite celebrity chef and bartenders from across the Globe for a multi-day fest of eating and drinking at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman. The tickets to the Cayman Cookout can become incredibly steep – I believe the most affordable ticket I found to the cookout was 699.00 per person….and they were sold out. Luckily, I have been Crowned Queen of Free Stuff, so I was able to secure 8 FREE tickets to the Bartender competition. Random Fact: The drink I had was the same drink Angelina Jolie had at the Oscar’s. Do you want my autograph now or later? One of the best parts of the Cayman Cookout was I was seated at the table with owner of Don Julio… Don Julio. I don’t think he has ever noticed that I was on his tab that night! LOL

  • Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman – More than just the home for The Cayman Cookout many would suggest visiting this chill hotel for it’s many bars, pools, etc.

  • Your hotel – I know it is easy to get

Take a moment from reading to come wish me a Happy 25th Birthday on Instagram: @BerryPoppins_

Quick story: I traveled to Cayman’s for my 25th birthday which was January 18th, 2019. I met these two older white ladies who were staying in the same hotel as I and celebrating their 50th birthdays …. that aren’t until July. You’d think because it was half a year to their birthday’s they would not be super “turnt” but they were incredibly lit. I told them about the Cayman Cookout event we went to the previous night and where it was at on a shuttle before hopping out to go where I was headed to. Anyways, the ladies kept asking to me to hang out with them and I continued to deny their invitations until they stopped asking. Later that night, I ran into the ladies and they told me they had the best time at the Cayman Cookout…... they snuck in after I told them about it during our shuttle ride. They tested food, they drank for free and even left with a souvenir bag before someone noticed they were in fact not on the guest list. I instantly regretted not hanging out with them!

Best Places to Eat:

  • Peppers!

Peppers is a common place for tourist to visit for food because many of the hotels, including the one I stayed at (The Marriot Grand Cayman) are directly across from the restaurants. The meals are delicious!

  • Coconut Joes

On the tour we took we met friends that RAVED about Coconut Joes dinner, so we decided we had to stop in. We only had one day remaining, so we went for there brunch and the food was delicious

  • Burger Shack

If you want a quick bite of American food head over to the Burger Shack while in Grand Cayman. It located in a small plaza where locals often go for light shopping. There are outside areas designated for eating. I think it’s self-explanatory in the name what they sale. Make sure to try the Veggie Burger as a serial meat eater even I thought it was incredible!

  • Al La Kebab

My favorite of all the restaurants I tried were Al La Kebab. It’s located in the same small shopping area as the Burger Shack. Head here for a quick bite or after club / party meal. Many locals head there to eat “chicken fries” outside after a night out on the town. Trust me on this, I have been thinking about these fries ever since I left.

  • Eats Café

I remember being satisfied with all the restaurants I ate at. Eats’ Café’s food was not very memorable unfortunately however I liked to share all the places that I visited while there and this was one. Eats along with many other restaurant and bars are located on Seven- Mile Beach. Many resorts are located here as well.

  • Cayman Cookout

If you decide to purchase a ticket to the Cayman Island Cookout they will feed you... good! The best chefs from around the world actually! You will spend a grip on these tickets - so if you do surely, you intend to make the best of it and eat as MUCH AS YOU CAN!
